The Scottish Government issued a joint statement in collaboration with Propertymark, and other representative bodies, underlining the commitment shown by letting agents to engage with tenants who found themselves in hardship during the pandemic.
Letting agents will need to make either digital checks using the Home Office online checking service or hard copy checks using a newly updated acceptable documents list as from 1 July, the focus of Right to Rent checks in England changes in line with the UK's Points Based Immigration System.
PRS REPORT: Propertymark members reported the number of new prospective tenants to be at an all time high. Jumping to 97 from April's figure of 82, the average number of tenants per branch was the highest figure on record for the month of May.
